The Global Business Development Manager will lead the organization's business development activities to achieve revenue growth and sales targets. They will develop plans and strategies for market development and increased market penetration for our products and services in target global markets. They will identify, nurture, and manage key accounts and High-Value Opportunities along with managing an international team of business development managers.
As a member of the management team, the Global Business Development Manager contributes to the development and furtherance of our organizational policy and strategic plans.
Design, implement, monitor, and evaluate global and regional business development plans and strategies that contribute to market development, to increase market penetration, and to ensure annual sales targets are achieved by product, revenue, region, and country. Accountable for sales growth targets ensuring the revenue budget is achieved.
Assume overall accountability for the sales function in each region, leading the Business Development team members in the implementation of the regional sales plans. Manage, analyse, and report on new opportunities, sales activity, revenue pipeline, and other business metrics via CRM and other channels, making recommendations on priorities and remedial actions in order to maximize revenue.
Design and implement product strategy for target regions ensuring products meet customers’ needs and that new business opportunities are identified. Lead on preparation of well-researched recommendations and proposals for exploiting new business opportunities, ensuring proposals are presented to the senior management and the customer promptly.
Support Test Center marketing and sales efforts to increase market penetration and achieve annual sales targets. When discrepancies from targets are identified, work with Business Development Managers and Center Exam Managers to propose corrective measures.
Act as a beacon figure to corporate, government and educational stakeholders to position our business as their preferred option. Develop and maintain relationships with external partners including the Cambridge Assessment English Global network, publishing companies, strategic partners, and key accounts. Manage these accounts using our CRM system to maximizing revenue and impact potential.
Train, support, and supervise the Business Development staff in key overseas markets, developing and supporting the team, and ensuring the effective delivery of business growth plans internationally.
Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing or related field
Strong communication skills
Fluent speaker of English (minimum C1 level)
Proven sales ability
Ability to work autonomously
Strong customer focused
Competent user of most Office products and ability to quickly learn new software programs including CRM systems
Managing education projects in the higher education, school, and corporate sector
Managing a sales team
Master’s degree in marketing, communications, business or related field
Fluent Spanish speaker; speaker of Portuguese; speaker of other languages
Strong presentation, negotiation and influencing skills
Creativity in bundling full solutions and addressing the markets needs that may differ from one country to another
Experience working in Latin America and other international contexts
Experience in selling in the ELT or education market in both the private and governmental sector
The position may be based in Ann Arbor, MI, USA or internationally in Mexico City, Mexico or Sao Paulo, Brazil.
