Job PurposeTowson University is accepting applications for an Assistant Director, Admissions Communications to support the enrollment goals of University Admissions by creating and executing admissions communications to include email, web, social media, text, print and other digital formats.
Create content for email communications and execute campaigns; work with team members to develop and manage the communication flow and new communications; and analyze results and provide recommendations for changes. Collaborate with team members to contribute and leverage email content on Admissions text and social media platforms. Update and maintain Admissions web pages. Create a schedule of required web edits; update web content throughout the admissions cycle; and work with the Admissions and Marketing teams to improve the user experience for prospective students and family members. Assist with updating and editing Admissions printed publications. Work with team members to collect feedback and submit changes to Marketing.
Bachelor's degree and two years of Marketing & Communications experience. The position requires excellent communication skills. Must pay attention to detail and possess strong organizational skills. Understanding of audiences, competition, and differentiation. Hands-on experience with CRM tools (preferably Salesforce), email automation software, and web content management. Distilling theoretical or academic information into consumer- friendly marketing. Experience collaborating with marketing teams. Highly organized self-starter who takes ownership and requires little guidance. Commitment to quality. Positive can-do attitude, flexibility, initiative, and ability to thrive as member of team. Willingness to accept constructive criticism and direction. Strong interest and passion for higher education. The successful candidate will be a team player with a strong work ethic, interested in and attentive to cross-cultural communication and someone who actively contributes to the office welfare in a high volume, fast-paced environment. The familiarity and use of current marketing technology is critical to the success of this position and the overall operation.
Preferences: Prior marketing and communications experience within higher education and the SalesForce CRM.
