Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Chicago seeks a Grants Manager to join a dynamic team of development professionals headed by the Director of Foundation and Corporate Relations. The Grants Manager will play a key role in increasing the cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of the foundation and corporate community to support the Agency's wide-ranging programs and operations. A candidate must demonstrate superior writing skills and possess a keen interest in human services. Experience with Raiser's Edge fundraising database and grant writing is strongly preferred.
Essential Functions of the position are detailed below, and include any physical requirements below that. 1. Provides expertise in the area of grants management and is primarily responsible for writing and editing grant proposals, reports, and correspondence to donors and prospects and manages the tracking system for timely submission of proposals and reports. 2. Works independently and consistently exercises discretion and sound judgment in the area of grants management. 3. Assists in the development of fundraising plans for specific agency programs and researches funding prospects. 4. Conducts donor and prospect research to expand foundation and corporate donor base and schedules funder site visits. 5. Convenes meetings with appropriate program staff and service area controllers to facilitate proposal submission. 6. Works with Catholic Charities board members to secure financial support for the Agency. 7. Assists with other fundraising efforts when necessary and attends events when requested. 8. Assists with various agency communications and public relations efforts when appropriate. 9. Stay up -to- date on relevant research and news on Foundation and Corporate philanthropy. 10. Assists in developing departmental policies and procedures and works on special projects, as assigned.

Relevant Experience: Preferred: 3-5 Years Must demonstrate superior writing skills and possess strong interpersonal and organizational skills. Experience in fundraising and grant writing. Proficiency with computers and Microsoft Office (especially Word and Excel) required. Experience with Raiser's Edge fundraising database is strongly preferred. Minimum: 1-2 Years Must demonstrate superior writing skills and possess strong interpersonal and organizational skills. Experience in fundraising and grant writing.
