The Association for Corporate Growth is seeking an experienced individual to provide support, management, and coordination for ACG’s federal advocacy and grassroots initiatives. The manager works in close coordination with the Vice President and Senior Counsel, Public Policy. Superior judgment, excellent communication skills, sharp attention to detail, and creative problem-solving ability are essential to be successful in this position.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Monitor, identify, and track legislative and regulatory activity to determine impact on the middle market and private capital
Analyze and synthesize complex policy-related materials into understandable and digestible language for ACG members and other stakeholders
Assist with drafting and distributing a variety of policy-focused written content, including talking points, email alerts, newsletters, fact sheets, leave behinds, presentations, social media posts, digital content, etc.
Creatively leverage multiple social media channels in concert with internal resources and use new digital communication methods to push compelling public policy content focused on the middle market
Develop and implement comprehensive grassroots advocacy strategy to increase awareness of middle market issues and the impact of private capital, as well as to support policies that drive middle market growth
Engage ACG Chapter leaders and grassroots volunteers in advocacy efforts through a variety of internal and external channels. Develop grassroots database, maintain relationships with chapter leaders and grassroots volunteers, and report on grassroots programs metrics
Identify research opportunities and perform in-depth research to support policy-based messaging
Help manage ACG’s relationships with policymakers, relevant trade organizations, partners, and coalitions
Manage distribution lists, prepare and distribute member email communications, track digital metrics, and continually update ACG’s public policy webpage
Other duties as assigned
A self-starter who is proactive, reliable, resourceful, and adept at multitasking
A strategic thinker with experience in policy-based storytelling and driving visibility through social media and other digital communications
A clear and confident communicator with excellent interpersonal skills
A team player who can effectively collaborate and coordinate across multiple internal departments to achieve shared objectives
Experience in public policy and success in engaging stakeholders
Clear understanding of how to develop and implement grassroots strategies
Ability to work collegially with others at all levels to achieve common goals and meet expectations for organizational culture and service excellence
Bachelor’s degree in political science, communications, or related field
At least three years of experience related to public policy, including direct experience with grassroots advocacy
