The USC Mark and Mary Stevens Neuroimaging and Informatics Institute and Laboratory of Neuro Imaging (INI, www.ini.usc.edu) are world leaders in the development of advanced computational and scientific approaches for the comprehensive mapping of brain structure and function. LONIâs unique multidisciplinary environment and cutting edge resources allow for integration of clinical, psychological and genotypic information with neuroimaging phenotypes for research questions in neurology, psychiatry and developmental neurobiology.
The Global Alzheimerâs Association Interactive Network (GAAIN), powered by LONI, unites a diverse and geographically distributed network of data partners within a federated data platform designed to foster cohort discovery, collaboration and sharing. GAAIN represents the first open access, federated Alzheimerâs disease data discovery platform of its kind. We are looking for a Project Administrator to join the team and support the growth of the GAAIN project, primarily in the areas of planning, communications, and outreach. Major responsibilities include identifying, interacting with, recruiting, and keeping engaged potential Data Partners, Users, and allies of GAAIN. This entails being one of the primary "voices" of GAAIN and includes all forms of communications including social media.
Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Identify, research, recruit, and communicate regularly with Users, as well as existing and potential Data Partners. Track these contacts and communications with CRM.
Track progress and generate communications about progress with funders.
Plan, develop and execute public communications goals and strategies for GAAIN
Plan, implement, and manage visibility events, activities, collaborations, projects and/or programs to increase awareness of GAAIN.
Direct and/or generate content (e.g. text, images, video, website and other publications) in all areas of media, including social media (Twitter, Facebook etc.), to build connections and communicate GAAIN goals and news.
Stay current with pertinent literature and developments, establish an active network of professional contacts.Â
Aid in hiring staff and volunteers.
Update, improve, generate, and help design and organize content on GAAIN-related web-sites (gaain.org, gaaindata.org, YouTube).
Write and aid others (as appropriate) in writing articles related to GAAIN research projects.
MD or PhD preferred
Clinical/neuroscience education, knowledge about epidemiological/clinical studies helpful
Basic knowledge about informatics or data sharing methods and issues associated with them
Public relations or marketing background/skills
Familiarity with using social media to promote a project/product
Good people skills, communication written & oral
Ability to quickly learn and evaluate different types of software
Strategic planning and management skills
