Sound is seeking a highly motivated business development colleague to help expand the company’s footprint in the Managed Care space with specific payer stakeholders. Reporting directly to the Senior Vice President of Managed Care Services, this colleague will drive market and business development with specific health plans. This colleague will be responsible for identifying relevant opportunities and potential partnerships, engaging key stakeholders, and communicating the Sound Physician’s Managed Care Services value proposition, ultimately leading to signed contracts and expanded business. The ideal candidate will need to possess the drive, intellect, curiosity, and creativity to execute complex, value-based agreements.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Collaborate with Sound leadership to identify opportunities for expansion.
Engage with, and serve as the primary point of contact between Sound Physicians and prospective customers; identify key stakeholders on customer side, build deep, long-term relationships, and appropriately communicate the Sound Physicians value proposition.
Manage the deal/partnership process, ensuring alignment across all parties and engaging relevant Sound Physicians executives in the process as requested
Collaborate efficiently and effectively with the Sound Physicians leadership team.
Coordinate and lead transitions of new payer risk arrangements to operational teams to ensure an effective implementation and new relationship
Maintain a strong understanding of value based care strategies and Sound Physicians’ business, notably around population health, to craft a crisp and compelling story and effectively communicate the ROI to potential partners
Provide market feedback around Sound Physicians’ Population Health offering to the executive leadership team in order to fine tune and continue to improve the business’ standing in the market
Regularly update broader leadership team around pipeline/deal status

Ability to negotiate contract terms and agreements that are consistent with the organizations objectives.
Demonstrated ability to simultaneously manage multiple relationships and deal processes, navigating complex organizations over long deal cycle
Strong interpersonal and communication skills; can eloquently communicate a differentiated value proposition while also projecting professional competence, leadership capability, and personal maturity
Knowledge of value based care and value based payments strategies and initiatives, and healthcare/provider services broadly; stays up to date with latest trends/changes in healthcare policy
Mission orientation; has a passion for healthcare and belief that innovative offerings create value for the healthcare ecosystem
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
Undergraduate degree required in health management, business, or a related area
Proven business development and partnership cultivation experience with complex deals in the payer space, ideally within the medical management division inside of a payer
5+ years experience in hospital and/or health plan related business development/contracting space
2+ years experience negotiating risk contracts with payer
