The Chief Nursing Officer, Acute Care is responsible for collaboration and assisting in the decision making process between Masimo and the hospital nursing executives and will support the entire scope of Masimo technology products. The CNO must be driven to achieve continuous improvement, work well with teams at all levels of the organization, act as a leader and spokesperson for Masimo’s medical technology, and possess the professional skills required of this highly visible and key role.
Duties & Responsibilities
Ensure that acute care nursing leadership understands the importance of how Masimo solutions and technology improve Patient Safety, Patient Quality, Patient Outcomes and nursing workflow.
Partner with acute care nursing thought leaders to influence improvements in patient care through the utilization of technology at the bedside.
Foster strategic thinking and creativity to conceptualize innovative sales approach to new and existing market opportunities.
Evaluate trends in the industry, develop and execute overall adjunct sales and marketing plans.
Build upon the success of the organization’s existing customers, while adding new accounts, focusing on building higher value relationships within the market to grow revenue and profitability.
Engage with sales teams with a common sense of purpose and achievement, and a strong commitment to to demonstrate how Masimo technology enhances nursing workflow.
Participate in strategic marketing and corporate communications initiatives to help develop market and clinical messaging, collateral, whitepapers, multimedia communications (videos, podcasts, Webexes), etc.
Participate within nursing and professional industry organizations to influence the adoption of policies and guidelines that increase the utilization of Masimo technology.
Assist in the clinical education to increase the knowledge of Masimo’s sales, clinical and marketing teams on current nursing practices and regulatory topics.
Foster KOL alliances and key accounts / excellence centers for educational and market development initiatives.
Identify ‘super users’ and help marketing and corporate communications develop case studies and user testimonials based on real-world user experiences.
Perform special projects as requested.
Fifteen or more years of nursing leadership and operations experience in healthcare.
Five years of experience as an acting CNO with a larger healthcare organization.
Must have C-Level Relationship Management experience.
Documented achievements in nursing and Workflow Analysis Design & Improvement.
Proven track record in Team Mentoring & Leadership.
The CNO will have a unique blend of experience in quality and safety technologies and services, hospital administration and clinical expertise, with the ability to view the business from a holistic perspective and see the bigger picture.
The successful candidate must possess personal and professional credibility, with an extensive network of nurse leader contacts.
In this role, the CNO will serve as a leader and strategist, evaluating trends in the industry, and assist in developing and executing the overall sales and marketing plan.
The CNO must be able to build upon the success of the organization’s existing customers, while adding new accounts, focusing on building higher value relationships within the market to grow revenue and profitability.
Quality and safety knowledge as well as business development background highly preferred.
Must be a highly motivated professional and self-starter.
The CNO must be comfortable with public speaking and developing clinical presentations.
60% travel within the Western US.
