Job Title: Communications Government Relations Manager Job ID: 21412 Location: Kingsborough Community College Full/Part Time: Full-Time Regular/Temporary: Regular POSITION DETAILS Reporting to the AVP for Communications and Marketing, the Communications Government Relations Manager at Kingsborough Community College is responsible for producing effective community outreach programs that enhance awareness and appreciation for Kingsborough Community College's mission, and developing and maintaining effective partnerships with governmental, business and community organizations, including government agencies. In addition to the CUNY Title Overview, responsibilities include but are not limited to:
-Ensure that the College meets its legislative goals by maintaining communications with University leadership, various organization units and constituency groups of the University, State and Federal agencies including the legislature and the New York Congressional delegation as well as lobbyists in order to provide effective support services. -Act as liaison to faculty seeking government funding. -Advise and accompany the President and senior staff as needed to select events. -Prepare sensitive and high-priority communications such as speeches for use by senior management. -Write and prepare written material on a variety of topics such as students, alumni, faculty, campus facilities, academic programs, and/or events. -Research and write news releases, brochures, profiles, announcements, e-news stories and other materials as needed. -Produce material to be used in a number of formats such as print, web sites, and presentations. QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's degree and six years' related experience required Preferred Qualifications:
