Cal Poly is actively seeking a dynamic leader to serve as the Head Football Coach.
Cal Poly is a member of the Big Sky Conference and sponsors 21 sports at the Division I NCAA level. Cal Poly Athletics is committed to providing a broad based, high quality, competitive, NCAA Division I athletic program that affords student-athletes opportunities to take advantage of Cal Poly's unique "learn by doing" philosophy.
Reporting to the Director of Athletics, the successful candidate will be responsible for leading all aspects of Cal Poly’s Division I Football program. This includes, but is not limited to:
Evaluation recruitment and retention of student-athletes
Game preparation and strategy
Fiscal planning and budget development
Supervising and evaluating assistants and staff
Scheduling; alumni and public relations, fundraising
Adherence to NCAA rules and regulations
The Head Coach will also be responsible for supporting the philosophy, goals and mission of both the University and the Athletic Department, as well as adherence to departmental, university, Big Sky conference and NCAA policies and procedures. The Head Coach is also expected to execute other program related duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics.
5 years of collegiate coaching experience
A thorough knowledge of and commitment to compliance with the rules, regulations and policies of NCAA and the Big Sky Conference
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Understanding of and commitment to academic and athletic excellence
Experience recruiting student-athletes and fundraising for various athletic programs

CAL POLY ATHLETICS
Cal Poly operates its athletic program with integrity and in full compliance with institutional, conference and NCAA guidelines. Cal Poly sponsors 21 sports at the NCAA Division I level. All sports compete in the Big West Conference except Football (Big Sky Conference) Wrestling(Pac-12), and Men's and Women's Swimming (Mountain Pacific Sports Federation).
Men's NCAA Division I sports programs include: football, basketball, baseball, cross country, golf, swimming and diving, tennis, outdoor track and field, soccer, and wrestling.
Women's NCAA Division I sports programs include: basketball, volleyball, soccer, softball, cross country, indoor track and field, outdoor track and field, swimming and diving, tennis, golf and beach volleyball.
