Summary The Class Manager position has at its core the responsibility for developing class identity within alumni classes, stewarding the relationships of Stanford's key volunteers, and leading all planning and implementation efforts for Reunion Homecoming classes. Class Managers develop and implement key alumni relations programs within the Alumni & Student Class Outreach Department.
The Class Manager will work with alumni volunteers, students, and other University staff colleagues to develop, implement, and evaluate activities, programs, services, and communications that reach, serve, and engage alumni. Assist with marketing, planning or managing all/part of alumni programs, events, educational opportunities, and/or other alumni initiatives.
This is a part-time, 60% FTE position.
Your responsibilities include:
Recruit, train, and oversee volunteers and volunteer led projects taking place during Reunion Homecoming.
Develop, write and edit class communications.
Develop contacts and maintain relationships with alumni, students, staff, and vendors.
Plan large scale and/or high-level alumni programs and events for Reunion Homecoming.
Collaborate and coordinate with other departments and schools to achieve the goals of alumni programs or projects.
Work with other departments to identify and implement new markets and develop program strategies.
Participate in budgeting, forecasting, and cost negotiations for alumni events and programs.
Evaluate alumni programs and services for customer satisfaction.
Complete appropriate post-event assessments, reports and documentation.
During peak season in September & October, this position will need to operate at 100% FTE capacity for an agreed upon number of weeks before and after Reunion Homecoming.

Bachelor's degree and at least three years of relevant experience or combination of education and relevant experience (five years of experience preferred).
Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and the ability to represent the university professionally both internally and externally.
Demonstrated experience with volunteer development and oversight.
Strong interpersonal, team, and leadership skills; tact and flexibility in working with diverse population groups.
Sound judgment, the ability to analyze problems quickly and accurately, and the ability to develop practical and effective solutions to solve a variety of problems.
Computer proficiency and the ability to learn new systems.
In addition, our preferred background and experience includes:
Knowledge of volunteer development and management with sensitivity to class specific, generational considerations.
Solid understanding of social media, email and web based communications and marketing.
Demonstrated ability to work independently, successfully coordinating many projects requiring close timeline management, and get projects done on deadline by enlisting the cooperation of volunteers and colleagues.
