There are two Assistant Director positions currently available, both working under the general direction of the Director of Volunteer Giving Initiatives, to plan and execute campaigns for volunteer solicitation committees. One position will focus on two reunion classes, including the 5th and 10th and the Metro NY Regional Committee, participation efforts for the 5th, 25th and 50th reunion campaigns and supporting our Class Outreach Program. The second position will focus on three reunion classes, including the 15th, 20th and 25th, and at least one Regional Committee, as well as additional responsibilities managing large team projects (i.e. mass appeals and reunion honor rolls).
Both positions will provide support for Reunion Campaign Committees and Regional committee, which have an emphasis on personal solicitations for outright annual gifts at the $5,000 leadership gifts level and above. Support our Class Outreach Program, which utilizes Cornell's strong class-based structure to maximize participation outside of reunion campaigns. Responsibilities include goal setting, volunteer recruitment, volunteer training and support, along with related activities of identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship activities for alumni in these classes, including some limited broad base outreach efforts. Through these activities, help build the pipeline of donors at the leadership and major gifts levels.
Bachelor's degree, with 3 or more years' experience in Development, Alumni Affairs, Public Affairs, Marketing, or Public Relations. Very detail oriented, highly motivated. Shows initiative, good judgment, has a love of working with volunteers. Strategic thinking, ability to multi-task. Experience with annual fund campaigns or short-cycle campaign fundraising required. Knowledge of the principles and practices which underlie individual giving. Strong leadership skills, an effective communicator, with a demonstrated ability to work well with, lead, and train volunteers and staff. Ability to effectively represent the University and to work effectively in a team environment with a mix of alumni and program partners. Ability to use database systems and analyze data to manage work is essential. Travel is required. Knowledge of Cornell preferred. Familiarity with PeopleSoft and OBIEE. preferred.
