This position is part of the University IT Communications team, a 600-person strong Stanford University technology department located on campus and responsible for developing and delivering on communication strategies that support the organization's mission and 100+ services. The ideal candidate must be skillful at:
finding and identifying relevant and meaningful content;
working with subject matter experts to understand the intricacies of topics that are often technical or dry;
shaping messages so that they are engaging, action-oriented, broadly consumable or specifically directed;
seeing the big picture and devising communication action plans that drive toward specific and measurable goals;
counseling and leading others to the best communication approaches and strategies for the particular circumstances and goals.
A strong verbal communicator and presenter
The ideal candidate must be proficient at clearly articulating important information (general and instructional) in all types of scenarios, from individual meetings with peers, to small discussions with senior leadership, to presentations with large client audiences.
A multi-channel specialist
The ideal candidate must value and leverage all available approaches to enhance communications, including a combination of text, graphics, animation, and video.
A people person
The ideal candidate must comfortable walking over to see a colleague, initiating meetings, and interacting with others you don't know well or at all.

JOB PURPOSE: Under the guidance of senior management, participates in the development and implementation of marketing initiatives, enabling programs, services, events and/or products to meet business objectives. Vendor management. Drives cross-functional collaboration across the organization. CORE DUTIES*:
Recommend and execute marketing strategies to meet business objectives.
Manage marketing plans/programs to meet business objectives, including collaboration with internal stakeholders and vendor partners.
Implement integrated marketing communications and brand strategy, across a variety of channels (i.e., digital and print).
Oversee design and production of marketing materials from inception to deployment.
Conduct market research, including competitive benchmarking, and analyze campaign/program/ service/event effectiveness used to inform decisions regarding strategic marketing direction, product segmentation and customer targeting.
Assess market opportunities and track market trends. Recommend marketing improvements based on findings.
Plan and execute events to support marketing objectives.
Manage vendors/consultants on specific projects.
Manage project/program budget(s) and coordinate invoice processing.
May oversee interns and other contingent staff; provide staff training.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Education & Experience: Bachelor's degree and five years of relevant experience; or a combination of education and relevant experience. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Previous experience in product, program and/or services marketing.
Ability to drive cross-functional groups toward a common goal.
Experience with project management and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Understands how to implement integrated marketing programs across channels including digital and print.
Experience with market research and data analysis.
Demonstrated problem solver.
Excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills.
