Riverview Health has an opening for full-time RiverView Foundation Director.
The Foundation Director has primary responsibility to secure philanthropic funds to strengthen RiverView Foundation and its ability to charitably support the operations of RiverView Health. This position is under the direct supervision of the CEO of RiverView Health and reports to the Foundation Board.
Key responsibilities include the development and implementation of a diversified fund raising strategy, to include the identification and cultivation of new donors and retention of established donors. The Director will maintain a major gifts program, which from time to time will be executed as part of a major capital campaign.
The Director is expected to be engaged with civic and commerce organizations within the primary service area; including events that may be outside of normal business hours. Ability to communicate with timely follow up to community leaders, donors, perspective donors and the organizations internal stakeholders is essential. Professionalism, integrity and trustworthiness is of utmost importance is all aspects of this position.
The Director will work collaboratively with the RiverView CEO and leadership team to identify priority needs critical to the execution of the organizations mission. The Director will coordinate a process to collect information and prioritize grant requests for the Foundation’s consideration. It is the Director’s responsibility to appropriately present grant requests to the Foundation Board, with the Foundation Board having the authority to disperse funds.
The Director identifies, initiates, revises and recommends policies and procedures necessary to reflect sound business practices which work toward achieving the objectives of the RiverView Health Foundation. This person will coordinate and work collaboratively with RHA’s Marketing and Community Relations Department and Foundation staff to develop marketing materials for the Foundation and its various programs. Director is responsible for maintaining up to date donor records and for appropriate acknowledgement of all Foundation donations. Director will oversee the Foundation’s donor database and provide all necessary transactional records to the Finance Department for compliance and accounting of the Foundations activity.
An appreciation for the role of non-profit organizations and a genuine interest in healthcare is required. The Director may be assigned other Administrative/Management tasks by the CEO of RiverView Health or by the President of the Foundation.
Bachelor’s Degree in Administration, Finance, Public Relations/Marketing or related field required.
Preferred: Minimum of three years experience in non-profit Fund Development. Previously demonstrated success with securing grant funding. In addition to strong written and verbal skills, the Director must have demonstrated skills in interpersonal relationships, planning, development, project management, computer skills, marketing, time management and telephone cultivation. Experience in grant writing a plus. Director must exhibit absolute discretion, confidentiality, and integrity.
