Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking an Edit/Media Specialist II C/W for Rutgers’ School of Social Work- Center on Violence Against Women and Children. This position reports to the Senior Coordinator for Community Engagement and is primarily responsible for multimedia engagement, including production of social media content, email messaging, infographics, website content, and other virtual multimedia materials designed to increase outside engagement with the Center. This position is grant funded and thus works on tasks related to the projects funding the position, specifically the National Institute of Justice Violence Against Women Research Consortium and the NJ Attorney General’s Office Victim of Crimes Act Enhancing Victim Services at Rutgers University project.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
Manages and works to expand the social media platforms used by the Center to share resources related to these projects (i.e., Facebook, Twitter, Youtube, Linkedin).
Generates strategies to distribute engaging and consistent content across all multimedia platforms.
Assists with managing the Violence Against Women Consortium website including updating content, assisting in the creation of new content, and ensuring an impactful user experience.
Creates infographics based on research findings, available university resources, and efforts related to engaging with the Rutgers Community around Violence Prevention.
Minimum Education and Experience:
Bachelor's Degree in Business, Communications, Marketing, or other related field.
A minimum of two years related experience.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Demonstrated experience in internet architecture, social media engagement, direct mail, print and electronic
Demonstrated experience in content management, creative writing, advertising conceptualizing, print, media negotiations, and electronic advertising.
Experience web editing
Skills in Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, Word and Office 365
Strong creativity and marketing skills
Excellent organizational, time management and verbal communication skills
Keen eye for detail and ability to produce high quality content advertising. Must be able to manage many moving parts and details at once
Ability to generate multiple and varied ideas
Ability to work independently and be self-motivated
Ability to report work orally or in writing to supervisor as required
Knowledge of Adobe suite including some basic video and audio editing
The position requires the regular use of a computer and expertise with the following software: Adobe suite including some basic video and audio editing
