Reporting directly to the VP, Human Resources, the Human Resources Assistant will provide diverse and highly confidential administrative support for the HR staff in the areas of Compensation, Benefits, Employment, Employee Relations, Labor Relations, HRIS, and Title IX. Individual will manage and facilitate the smooth operation of the front office. Effective communication with Human Resources staff is critical.
The successful candidate must possess a minimum of 3+ year's office experience preferably in Human Resources with excellent administrative, interpersonal and public relations skills. Additional skills for success in this position include: active listening; a high level of attention to detail; the ability to prioritize, organize and coordinate all aspects of a highly diverse office with competing priorities; the willingness to be a contributing member of a highly functioning team; the ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality and perform under pressure; and the ability to respond quickly and accurately to a wide variety of inquiries and requests, both internal and external. Individual must also possess excellent skill level with Microsoft Office Suite and Google products and knowledge of HR systems (Banner, BenefitFocus and PeopleAdmin), as well as Visio is desired. Accurate knowledge of University policies and procedures are essential.
