Clark University’s School of Professional Studies seeks to fill the position of Executive Director MPA Senior Leadership Program. As an integral member of the School of Professional Studies administrative team, this position will support and report to the Associate Dean of the School of Professional Studies. The Executive Director will be responsible for the recruitment of qualified applicants for the MPA Senior Leadership Program. In addition, this position is responsible for managing the program schedule for various cohorts including event planning.
The Executive Director will be responsible for Outreach and recruitment for qualified applicants in various New England state and municipal entities. Outreach includes attendance at trade shows/association annual meetings, developing social media and print content. Recruitment will include face to face meetings and follow up calls with prospective students.
The successful candidate will demonstrate high attention to detail, experience managing competing priorities, and excellent organizational skills.
Duties and Responsibilities include:
Act as the point person through application submission to onboarding as a program participant.
Responsible for managing course schedules, identifying and resolving issues, and communicating with faculty, students, keynote speakers and vendors.
Ensure operational efficiencies are maintained throughout each phase of the project and that any issues are prioritized correctly and addressed quickly.
Core to the work, a successful candidate will meet each established cohort milestones (recruitment numbers, retention rates) as well as manage onsite residency session timelines. They must be able to manage projects with a collaborative approach and resolve issues in a timely and effective manner.
Minimum 5 experience in in public administration (town, city or state level)
Strong analytical skills to discern key information, grasp potential ramifications, eliminate obstacles and proactively and creatively problem solve.
Ability to gather data, draw conclusions and make effective recommendations.
Excellent interpersonal, collaborative and communication skills; demonstrated ability to establish positive working relationships with all stakeholders (students, faculty, administrators, vendors)
Skills in event planning, vendor contract management, or public relations experience
Ability to maintain focus on priorities while multitasking. Adaptable in a fast-paced environment.
High degree of personal ownership and accountability.
Strong organizational and time management skills; attention to detail; ability to exercise sound judgment and discretion.
Prior experience working with and contributing to a diverse workplace with the ability to interact effectively with a broad range of constituents on campus
This is a full-time, 40 hours per week, 12 month position with excellent benefits, which include employee and family tuition benefits, 4 weeks’ vacation, generous retirement plan, free use of campus fitness center and many more.
