The position schedules activities in the music building including rehearsal rooms, classrooms, and performance rooms, all academic scheduling, as well as department calendars. In addition, this position provides general customer service to faculty, students, administration, staff, other departments on campus, as well as the general public. This position works closely with all faculty and staff assisting in areas of processing scholarships, auditions, festivals, camps, etc.. The Office Assistant 3 schedules student appointments with the advisor and assists the advisor with special projects and some general tasks as well as campus public relations and recruiting for prospective students. They are also responsible for providing a variety of public relations tasks including advertising, monitoring and posting on social media, organizing department events, online ticketing for music department related events, and providing information and interpretation of policies and activities related to the department as well as assisting with general office tasks.

Ability to multitask in a fast-paced office environment with many interruptions in order to meet deadlines and maintain office workflow in a timely and accurate manner.
Proficient in use of Word, Excel, and Outlook email to produce written correspondence, create and maintain spreadsheets, and receive and respond to email inquiries, tasks, etc.
Ability to maintain a welcoming and positive attitude even when pressed in a multitasking environment.
Experience working in an academic environment.
Experience using graphics, web design software.
Basic user knowledge of Macintosh OSX and PC computers.
Experience scheduling professional/commercial events for various groups in multiple locations.
Experience in event promotion. Ability to write and edit press releases.
