This person will support the communications team and be a key contributor on all elements of a PR program or campaign including media relations, speaking and events, awards, and coordination with social media and content creation. They will understand client positioning and competitive landscape, as well as the media landscape, to match and unveil relevant earned media opportunities. They will support analyst relations and play a significant role in organizing and pitching media and garnering coverage for the client. They will write press releases, pitches, blogs, etc. and work with content and social team to ensure integrated program success. They will look for opportunities for clients within all research and social media activities. They will reply promptly to client requests that are related to areas he/she owns, and seek opportunities to help out team members and colleagues.
Excellent verbal and written communications skills Ability to write and pitch press releases, news stories, articles, case studies, bylines, product pieces, etc. Ability to arrange interviews and editorial meetings with key journalists for clients’ spokespeople and facilitate these meetings when appropriate. Understanding of measurement strategy, KPIs, and measurement tools. Provide reliable information to clients on current PR campaign progress and promotional opportunities. Experience with mentoring and guiding junior staff. Apply client and market understanding to uncover new opportunities. Ability to manage event and award submissions. Monitor media coverage and report results to the wider team and clients. 3+ years of experience within an agency or similar setting.
