NCNA has experienced significant recent growth, including membership growth of over 20% in the last 2 years, reaching a total of over 7,200 members. Thus, the successful candidate will join a growing and enthusiastic team of staff and volunteers. The position is based out of the new NCNA headquarters in the North Hills area of Raleigh, NC. The NCNA staff team consists of 8 full-time members, 2 part-time members and 3 independent contractors who work diligently to implement the strategic priorities of the organization.

Responsibilities: The membership coordinator will serve as NCNA’s frontline member service extraordinaire for inquiries from members and prospective members and be the primary logistics staff for membership recruitment, onboarding, and retention efforts. The membership coordinator will also assist in membership growth strategy development and implementation.
Membership recruitment responsibilities include supporting multiple outreach campaigns per year through verbal, printed and email tactics.
Membership onboarding responsibilities include scheduling and sending welcome emails and welcome message series.
Retention responsibilities include outreach aimed at expiring members. Outreach includes phone, print, and email messaging.
Manages the annual membership renewal process. Primarily through database maintenance, phone calls and email.
Database manipulation includes running queries, list scrubbing, uploading and tracking.
Coordinates with the American Nurses Association on membership database updates and uploads new and all NCNA/ANA member list monthly.
Participates in monthly strategy sessions with membership consultants.
Provides professional support to NCNA communications and public affairs as they relate to membership.
Support and promote the mission of NCNA by seeking to maintain a basic knowledge of the current events and programs offered by NCNA. Promoting NCNA membership any time there is an opportunity is considered a job component of all NCNA team members.
Serves as manager of first impressions. Serves as initial contact for all incoming calls and emails and as the primary person receiving visitors and responding to inquiries 2-3 days a week. Responds appropriately and assists as needed to questions, comments, requests, etc. Assesses and resolves problems as necessary.
Occasional in-state travel, including overnight travel is required.
Other duties as assigned.
Education: A bachelor’s degree from a four-year institution is required.
Professional Skills: Customer service and basic knowledge of association/membership development is a must. Experience with association management systems and/or database management and manipulation experience strongly desired. Impexium/Informz experience is a plus. Intrinsic motivation, an outstanding work ethic, personal organizational skills, ability to meet deadlines and work with limited supervision is required. In all positions, NCNA welcomes team members with a dedication to customer service, problem resolution and working together as a team to achieve goals and objectives. Excellent written and verbal communication skills required, as well as basic Microsoft office skills required.
Experience: A minimum of three years professional experience, preferably in an association and/or membership driven organization.
