Major Duties: General summary: Manages the Western Michigan University news site and other communication channels administered by the Office of Marketing and Strategic Communications, helping to deploy University content in a manner that engages and informs internal and external audiences.- Manages, creates, posts and edits content for WMU communication channels administered by the Office of Marketing and Strategic Communications. - Helps guide content creators in conceptualizing compelling WMU stories and accompanying visuals that exemplify and elevate the University's brand messages. - Directs other communication projects as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree or higher in related field from an accredited institution.- Three years' relevant experience.- Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills. - Ability to think both analytically and creatively and from the perspective of a given target audience. - Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks. - Strong news writing skills and ability to adhere to Associated Press writing style.
