Ashland University (www.ashland.edu) invites applications for a Retention and Completion Coordinator. Under the direction and supervision of the Vice President for Enrollment Management and Marketing, the Retention and Completion Coordinator is responsible for managing, developing, implementing and assessing a comprehensive retention action plan for the University.
Essential Position Duties and Responsibilities:
Works with university partners to identity annual goals for retention and completion rates.
Identifies campus policies and procedures that lead or contribute to student attrition.
In collaboration with the Office of Institutional Effectiveness, collects, analyzes, and reports student persistence and retention data in addition to student learning and satisfaction data and compares it to internal benchmarks and national/peer institutional data.
Coordinates retention programs and services with other designated university offices and personnel, including data collection, analysis, and reporting.
Evaluates the University's wide array of retention programs to ensure student success and make recommendations for continuous improvements.
Serves on committees critical to retention initiatives and chairs the Retention and Completion Committee.
Serves as a liaison between faculty and student support programs to support student success and retention.
Promotes retention initiatives and progress to the Executive Leadership Team.
Maintains data and writes reports related to Early Alert, academic progress interventions, retention, graduate retrieval, and completion efforts.
Writes and/or assists with content development for publications related to student success, retention, and completion.
Attends state, regional, and national conferences and training programs as appropriate.
Develops measurable retention strategies and action plans to identify priorities, strategic goals, and action plans to enhance student progress and degree completion.
Identifies, tracks, and maintains information (including retention and success rates) on all students.
Advises campus personnel on budget implications and trends as it pertains to retention.
Other duties as assigned.
Master's degree is required.
Three (3) years experience in higher education, preferably in a retention-related role.
Organized, self-motivated, and able to prioritize tasks effectively.
Ability to interface with a student information system (Colleague preferred) and varied learning management systems.
Demonstrated organizational ability and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively with others.
Demonstrated strong verbal and written communication skills.
