Under the Executive Director of Admissions, the Part-Time Admissions Recruitment Counselor must possess high energy, flexibility thriving in a high energy environment, and have a results driven attitude and focus for student success. This position will be responsible for daily interaction with prospective students and their families, high school guidance counselors, high school teachers, and North Shore Community College faculty and staff both in person and over the telephone. The purpose of the Recruitment Counselor is to perform recruitment and guidance of college students.
GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:
Assists potential students in determining the most appropriate academic plan of study based upon their academic, career and personal goals and objectives. Responsibilities include providing prospective students and their families with information regarding admissions, processes and policies and communicating the vision, mission, culture, and the specific amount of content of NSCC's educational programs to a variety of constituencies. Coordinates select programs and services to diverse student populations of potential students on campus, online, and in the community.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Participates in electronic (e-mail), telecounseling, and social media campaigns to target and/or follow-up with prospects.
Maintains positive contacts with prospective students with a specialization in working with diverse/multicultural students
Establishes and maintains working relationships with guidance counselors, parents, representatives of community based organizations, and North Shore Community College faculty and staff.
Attends meetings/events, serves on committees, makes presentations, and coordinates joint ventures for the purpose of establishing and maintaining liaisons
Adheres to a strong customer service orientation and works with Admissions/Outreach Office, Enrollment Centers, and Academic Divisions to increase access to the College and reach the College's enrollment goals.
Represents the College at fairs, alumni activities, open houses, campus tours, school visits and other recruitment events. Assists in the organization of these activities.
Works with colleagues, faculty, alumni, and students to identify, recruit, enroll, and retain a varied student body, including increasing diverse and multicultural populations.
Maintains accurate data entry of all recruitment activities within NSCC student information system, Banner, in order to provide accurate recruitment and admissions statistical reports.
Maintains a professional knowledge in applicable areas by researching recruitment strategies and new trends in the profession as well as participating in professional organizations, workshops and training sessions.
Demonstrates a thorough working knowledge of NSCC policies, procedures, and programs, as well as labor market information, and applies that knowledge to individual situations to assist students, parents, faculty, staff, and all community constituencies.
Other duties as assigned.
SALARY: $28.29 per hour, Non-benefited position. Up to 20 hours/week.

A Bachelor's degree is required. Community College experience is a plus.
Knowledge of the principles and practices of student recruitment and admissions.
Experience with Hobsons Radius preferred.
Strong presentation skills. Outstanding public relations and customer service skills.
Must have the ability to travel and work evenings and weekends for such events as Open Houses, College Fairs, community engagements, graduations, etc.
Must have a valid driver's license.
Strong knowledge of Microsoft products, particularly Excel and Access.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong interpersonal skills and a demonstrated ability to effectively to establish interpersonal connection with culturally diverse populations.
Sensitivity to the concerns and needs of diverse student populations is required.
Must be positive, energetic, team-orientated, capable of moving self, and require limited supervision.
Ability and desire to work effectively within a fast-paced, rapidly growing, intense, and multifunctional office environment.
Strong organizational and analytical skills.
Candidates will be required to pass a CORI/SORI background check as a condition of employment.
Successful experience interacting with culturally diverse populations.
