The Assistant Director will support the programs and professional learning team with projects, activities, grants and partnerships associated with AACTE core values of innovation and inquiry; diversity, equity and inclusion; quality and impact. The Assistant Director will work with the Director of Improvement and Practice and the Director of Research and Development for Programs and Professional Learning as assigned. In addition, the Assistant Director will support content development for the Annual Meeting and other convening activities as assigned.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Project Management & Administration:
Collaborate with the Directors of Programs and Professional Learning, as well as other AACTE staff, consultants, and partners as appropriate, to establish specific project implementation tasks and timelines;
Develop and employ systems to monitor the progress of project tasks to ensure that programmatic goals are achieved, and deliverables are on schedule;
Communicate proactively with AACTE members, potential members, and partners to advance program goals and partnerships, and respond to program-related requests.
Support planning and activities to advance cross-initiative collaboration and integration, by organizing detailed operational logistics and program content;
Manage execution of program surveys and evaluate data and create a feedback process for attendees;
Assist Directors with program budgets and management
Support activities necessary for grant integration and reporting;
Program Content Management:
Clinical Educator Preparation
Support project implementation, product development, and volunteer management to advance the goals of clinical practice initiatives
School Leader Preparation
Collaborate with the Director of Improvement and Practice, consultants, and partners to implement grant-supported activities and events, as well as related AACTE initiatives focused on school leader preparation
Collaborative Learning Communities & Research
Assist AACTE staff and consultants leading various Networked Improvement Community (NIC) initiatives with project and volunteer management; as well as with pre-requisite research to advance key programmatic priorities
Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion initiatives
Provide cross-initiative support for development and integration of programs focused on advancing diversity equity and inclusion; including Holmes Program infrastructure, development, and events
Research and Dissemination of Content
Assist the Director of Research and Development in research related to content development and reports
Develop written content for program communications, webpages, blogs and PowerPoints
Assist with the development of video and webinar content
Other duties as assigned.
Travel as needed to carry out responsibilities as described.
Potential for one direct report.
Work in conjunction with AACTE staff, consultants, and interns to fulfill the work plans supported by the AACTE mission, as directed by the Assistant Vice President of Programs and Professional Learning.
Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Education, Public Policy, Public Affairs, Public Administration, or a related field required
Master’s Degree, preferred
Minimum five (5) years’ experience supporting program administration in education, education policy, or a related field required
