Rutgers University-Newark, an urban public research university and anchor institution, located in Newark, New Jersey, a city of promise, is seeking an Administrative Coordinator for the Rutgers Law School Newark. Reporting to the Associate Dean for Advancement. The duties of the Administrative Coordinator includes but not limited to; -Provides programmatic and administrative support for departmental and Rutgers University Foundation efforts to engage individual, alumni, corporate, and foundation prospects. -Establishes measurable objects and operating budget priorities. -Collaborates and implements attention-getting and attended events. -Identifies and cultivates prospects and acts as liaison between development offices and potential donors. -Encourages collaboration between donors and university administration, students and faculty. Assists with developing opportunities for them to stay connected to a department, school or college. -Drafts and coordinates internal and external communications. -Prepares budgets and provide financial reports. -Completes work under general supervision, within established work parameters, with few direct instructions. -Carries out routine and non-routine task with occasional review of work outputs by supervisor. -Performs professional work that requires knowledge of volunteer management, event/program implementation, public relations, and marketing principles and practices and a good understanding, use an application of concepts, theories, principles, practices, terminology and applied bases of public relations and volunteer organization management. Minimum Education and Experience:
-Requires a Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business and public relations, communications or a related field or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience that demonstrates knowledge, skill and understanding of volunteer management, alumni/public relations, and event execution. -Also requires a minimum of two years relevant experience in promotions/event planning, volunteer, public relations, fundraising, sales or marketing function, or work in a law office.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
-Requires excellent oral and written communication skills, the ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks, and to interact successfully with a wide range of individuals at all levels of the University community. -Knowledge of general administrative and office management practices, as well as specific knowledge of University policies and procedures.
-Knowledge of the legal profession a plus.
