About the Opportunity: The Content Development Specialist will work collaboratively as a member of the Online Experiential Learning (OEL) team and a floating member of a product team which includes a Senior Learning Experience Designer (Sr LxD), a Learning Experience Designer (LxD), a Project Manager, a Product Manager, and a Multimedia Specialist to create quality learning products to fulfill the distinct mission and core values of Northeastern University. The Content Development specialist will develop educational solutions on a global scale and will contribute to the creation of customized learning products that focus on the user experience and address the unique needs of various audiences. Responsibilities: In collaboration with the product team, the Content Development Specialist will implement the product design laid out in blueprints created by Sr LxD, LxD, as well as Multimedia specialists in the identified Learning Management System. They will ensure the course structure meets the guidelines outlined at the start of every project.
In addition, this position will offer support to faculty and programs through the management of portfolios, prepping courses before the start of each term, and carrying out basic quality assurance reviews. The Course Development Specialist with work with the OEL Content Architect to incorporate new technologies into the identified LMS and support the Content Architect with training team members and faculty on the use and maintenance of all new technologies.

Qualifications: ? Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, English, Education, Ed Tech, or a related field. ? 2-3 years' experience related to supporting educational technology, instructional design, and/or course development in a university or business training setting ? Experience with one or more learning management systems as well as common software used in the design and development of distance learning courses. Ability to troubleshoot basic educational technology issues. ? 2 years experience with Salesforce ? 2 years experience with Wordpress ? Solid understanding of HTML and CSS ? Strong communication and collaboration skills, including the ability to collaborate across networks and work effectively in virtual teams ? Ability to converse with faculty about educational and technology issues and follow-up to address or resolve issues as appropriate ? Demonstrated ability to handle multiple responsibilities concurrently and work independently in a fluid and dynamic environment ? Flexible and creative problem-solving skills ? Ability to learn new technology quickly ? Passion for continued professional development in the areas of instructional design, learning experience design, curriculum development, educational technology, teaching and learning, etc.
Salary Grade: 10
This position is 100% remote. Travel to Northeastern's Boston Main Campus will be required approximately 4 times per year.
