Reports to: Vice President, Advancement and Communications
The director of alumni relations serves as the front line representative for alumni and is responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive engagement program to foster a lifelong connection between alumni and the University. This position will serve as the central point of contact for coordination of alumni programs across the University spectrum, developing new programs and working in collaboration with academic schools, athletics, and other departments.
Maintains responsibility for all alumni programs including developing a strategic vision, assessing current programs, creating new programs and executing the vision and strategy of the University related to alumni engagement.
Increases alumni engagement and involvement.
Develops a messaging and branding strategy to elevate the awareness and importance of alumni engagement.
Collaborates with the Development department to identify and steward alumni donors.
Develops and manages a young alumni engagement plan to build life-long connection and facilitate continued engagement and support for the University.
Ensures the integrity of the University alumni database.
Required Qualifications – Required qualifications to effectively perform the job. An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience will be considered. (Additional requirements may be designated by position.)
Bachelor’s degree required
Minimum of 3 years’ experience with alumni organizations and/or community associations required
Master’s degree preferred
Alumni of Lindenwood University preferred
Experience in planning, executing, and promoting special events preferred
