Oklahoma State University, a modern land-grant university, is seeking an Associate Director of Recruitment for Undergraduate Admissions. The position is based in Stillwater, Oklahoma on OSU's main campus.
Upholding the values and mission of the institution, the Associate Director of Undergraduate Admissions supports a dynamic leadership team for a staff of 70+ professional staff members and 40+ student staff. The associate director oversees the teams responsible for student services and outreach efforts for the University.
Reporting to the Director of Undergraduate Admissions, this position will collaborate with leadership to implement long-term strategies to positively impact enrollment goals. To be successful, the individual will initiate, build and maintain positive working relationships with internal and external partners, including but not limited to: OSU's divisions of Enrollment Management, Student Affairs, Institutional Diversity, the Oklahoma State Board of Regents, OSU Foundation, OSU Alumni Association, OSU-Tulsa, OSU Graduate College, OSU Academic Colleges, and colleges/universities in the A&M system, Big 12 Conference members and other peer institutions.
Additional responsibilities include the following:
Be enthusiastic and strategic, utilizing solid, contemporary research and knowledge of admissions mission, programs, and governing statutes.
Represent the department and the director at campus events and meetings.
Plan, delegate, motivate and coordinate the following student services team functions: off-site and on-site recruitment including campus experience via tours and events; campus representation at college fairs, high school visits, events; training staff on consistent and effective messaging.
Budget planning for recruitment activities, events and staff salaries.
Collaborate with director and other associate director to implement long-term information management and technology strategies to positively impact enrollment goals and, work environment and resources strategies for employee professional development, efficient and proactive work habits, and commitment to team work.
Some weekend and evening activities will be required in order to meet the needs of prospective students and parents.
Minimum five years' experience in higher education setting.
Experience to include both broad supervisory responsibilities and process management.
Leadership in building collaborative, outcome-focused teams to communicate goals and implement initiatives. A team-oriented attitude with attention to detail and superior organizational skills. Demonstrated commitment to a mission driven organization that includes creative visioning and commitment to service.
Strategic planning, implementation and management experience maximizing short- and long-term organizational goals and objectives.
Demonstrated success in upholding national, state and institutional standards, best practices, policies and procedures.
Success in building and sustaining client or constituent relationships resulting in measurable, positive outcomes.
Demonstrated strong presentation, writing, problem solving, and public relations skills.
Minimum of five years' experience in admissions or enrollment management leadership role as well as a minimum of 2 years of experience in the supervision and development of professional full-time staff. Demonstrated ability to develop and implement admission and recruitment strategies, policies and procedures for short-term and long-term organizational objectives and goals.
Admissions Counselor experience with recruitment territory responsibilities.
Working with campus constituents to implement enrollment initiatives including communicating goals and building collaborative, goal-focused relationships.
Strategic planning to maximize recruitment efforts and admissions practices including staffing strategies, front-line service, and admission evaluation. Communication funnel management, CRM and SIS database experience.
Seasoned, successful full-time staff management. Managerial style shall blend sense of urgency with thoughtful, analytical, proactive planning and implementation. Strong collaboration skills coupled with ability to be decisive. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated commitment to team work including formal and informal leadership. Demonstrated ability to work effectively with people of diverse backgrounds. Mission driven in advocating for higher education.
Ability to successfully manage multiple priorities. Demonstrated ability to provide leadership, direction, and supervision in outreach activities, tours and events to meet department recruitment, outreach, program and marketing objectives.
Experience developing and executing annual strategic recruitment plans including strategies for select populations based on geography and/or demographics. Strong organizational skills, program assessment, and budget experience preferred. Serve collaboratively with other associate director in absence of director.
