Department: UNIVERSITY EXTENSION - 027025 Department Description: UC Davis Continuing and Professional Education (CPE) is the academic division of the university dedicated to workforce and career development. CPE helps professional working adults upskill, reskill and advance their careers. CPE partners with campus schools, colleges and faculty to create global access to the distinctive knowledge and resources of UC Davis, and also works with employers and local experts to develop programs targeted to regional needs for economic development. More than 1,500 professionals teach in a wide array of specialized practice domains, including outstanding faculty from across UC Davis. Last year, CPE recorded nearly 62,000 enrollments in more than 4,200 classes, serving students from all 50 states and more than 100 countries. Courses are offered onsite and online in a variety of formats, including short courses, conferences, certificate programs and self-supporting master's degrees. Courses are open to the public and offered on a contract basis through partnerships with private companies, government agencies and international peer universities. CPE also manages the university's relationship with Coursera, a leading MOOC platform, and has taught hundreds of thousands of students through this partnership. CPE is completely self-supporting, generating more than $40 million in annual revenue from course fees, public and private contracts and grants. CPE employs over 230 employees (career, academic, contract and limited) and more than 60 student employees.

Job Summary: Under general supervision and in collaboration with the Program Director, act as primary representative for the coordination and delivery of approximately 10 to 35 county training contracts that fluctuate between $1.2 and 1.5 million annually depending on the scope of contracts. Develop professional relationships with contractors to ensure successful assessment, development and implementation of customized training. Maintain client satisfaction that fosters retention and expansion of annual contracts. Assist with recruitment of instructors and independently manage the contracts' scope of workload within as assigned by Program Director. Coordinate administrative and course work tasks with unit administrative supervisor.
Physical Demands: Lift or transport materials weighing up to 50 lbs.
Work Environment: Valid California driver's license to drive/travel to various locations throughout CA and nationally including overnight stays.
Work flexible schedule and occasional overtime including varied lunch hours and during peak periods.

Minimum Qualifications: -Experience with project and contract/client management in at least one of the following: organizational development or public social services.
-Experience planning/coordinating educational events such as conferences, workshops or symposiums.
-Analytical skills to define a problem, identify issues, analyze data and alternative solutions, weigh consequences of solutions and make recommendations and decisions.
-Experience developing and implementing marketing strategies including generating new marketing ideas, identifying strategic outlets for promotions, and identifying target audiences.
-Public relations skills to maintain the highest level of customer service, communicate professionally, verbally, in writing, and before groups.
- Interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills to interact professionally and effectively in person, by e-mail and on the phone with a diverse group of faculty, staff, students, the public and other outside agencies in a collaborative team environment.
-Experience identifying and evaluating program needs to develop and implement new programs/services.
-Experience working independently, organizing own work, establishing priorities, developing a course of action, monitoring the plan, reviewing and evaluating results.
-Experience using MS Office Suite for Windows (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook), databases and business tracking systems.
-General accounting experience to develop course and program budgets, monitor course costs and analyze financial reports.
Preferred Qualifications: -Experience identifying, recruiting, hiring and negotiating compensation for instructors and speakers.
-Knowledge of University policies, procedures and forms related to purchasing, accounting, billing and travel reimbursement, and other business actions.
-Experience using automated and computerized financial systems including DaFIS and Decision Support.
-Knowledge evaluating programs by comparing program objectives to measurable program outcomes; and developing recommendations for senior management based upon program evaluation results.
-Knowledge of human services programs and practices.
-Knowledge of principles of adult learning and continuing education.
