Works with the Executive Director and the Board of Directors to plan and implement resource development and marketing strategies. Responsible for reaching all revenue goals set within the annual resource development plan. Implements and oversees all resource development and marketing efforts of the organization through working with the resource development and marketing committee. Participates in and supports the Executive Director, Board and Committees in cultivating and soliciting gifts from individuals, corporations, foundations, community organizations and government agencies. Represents the organization through membership organizations and in various community groups.
The Director of Development will set and guide the strategy for all communications, website, and public relations messages to consistently articulate The LeaderShop’s mission. Working and networking within the community, the Director of cultivates, nurtures and maintains relationships with community members, businesses, community groups and others who play a vital role in our organization.
Meet or exceed The LeaderShop’s annual (revenue) fund development goals.
In collaboration with the Executive Director, Board and the Resource Development and Marketing Committees, develop and implement a plan for single and multi-year resource development efforts.
Provide leadership and direction in the effective operation of all resource development activities required to fund agency operations and deliver programs within the community.
Manage the execution of all fund raising special events, event sponsorships and logistics.
Coordination of all special event fundraiser and cultivation events in order to meet or exceed all resource development goals and assist with agency marketing and communication efforts. (Supervision includes oversight of special event planning and implementation and their assistance with development, marketing and communication efforts as needed). Provide direction to volunteers and staff throughout the event process.
In partnership with the Executive Director, the chair of the Resource Development and chair of the Communications Committees, develop compelling written materials for special event publicity and marketing (press releases, announcements, direct mail pieces, signage, and so on). To support all agency programs, develop for review and implementation print and electronic newsletters, direct mail solicitations, content for press release and news stories to be submitted to local media outlets, and content for the agencies electronic and social media tools, including its website and Facebook page, among others.
Through research and analysis, recommend and lead solicitation strategies for a variety of funding sources.
Develop and execute a strategy for a large, sustained base of annual individual donors.
Supervise, direct and coordinate all marketing, mailing and print efforts of the organization.
Support identified staff with the submission of grant requests. Support the Operations Director with grant reports.
Research and identify corporate and foundation grant opportunities.
Maintain and oversee that donor database and to ensure records are current and accurate with all necessary and pertinent information.
Ensure timely donation tracking and acknowledgement.
Represent the organization on a community level and oversee outreach efforts made on behalf of the organization.
Participate as an active member of the organization’s management team that works to effectively oversee mission delivery and address organizational priorities.
Articulate The LeaderShop’s mission and programs in public settings to contributor groups (i.e. board members, corporate and individual prospects, volunteers and others) as needed and requested.
Develop and maintain the Alumni Association under the direction of the Executive Director and with the support of the Operations Director.
Create and present reports as requested.
Attend and report at board meetings.
Generate and distribute meeting minutes as requested.
Supervise and direct volunteers as requested.
Other duties as assigned.
Seeking candidate with experience with the following software: Publisher, In-design, I-contact, Q-give, Matchmaker and WordPress.
Job Type: Full-time Exempt
Salary: $40,000.00 to $50,000.00 /year
