Job Summary: Under general supervision, supports the Finance, Operations and Administration (FOA) Communications office by providing content and digital development services to the division of Finance, Operations and Administration. These communication efforts foster increased awareness, understanding and support of FOA's mission, vision, accomplishments and needs among its many internal and external constituencies. The digital communications specialist will support FOA Communication initiatives with digital content that helps awareness, understanding and reputation for FOA programs.
Physical Demands: Sit at a computer/workstation and stare at display monitors for extended periods of time working with a computer/mouse.
Lift and maneuver boxes of paper and files weighing up to 20 lbs - hand cart available
Work Environment: Employee is personally responsible for following health and safety guidelines/instructions.
Work flexible schedule including occasional events and weekends to meet operational needs. Occassional travel to off-campus meetings and events, etc.

Minimum Qualifications: -Bachelor's degree in communications or related field/or equivalent experience / training. -Experience using SiteFarm Content Management System. -Experience writing and editing for a variety of digital communication platforms including blogs, social media and websites. -Demonstrated skill distilling complex material into clear, concise communications. -Experience developing informational materials, creating reports and answering correspondence. -Experience designing and producing high-level, mission critical collaterals to reach and engage diverse audiences. -Skill to follow editorial/promotional calendars and meet deadlines. -Analytical skills to interpret data, identify problems and develop solutions. -Experience working on multiple projects simultaneously and complete them with a high degree of quality.
Preferred Qualifications: -Experience using and complying with the UC Davis style guide and marketing toolkit. -Knowledge of and experience working with UC Davis Strategic Communications standards. -Skill to communicate articulately, orally and in writing. Skill to use written language accurately and creatively, to recognize and use correct English grammar, spelling and punctuation. Skill to edit and proofread. -Knowledge of the UC Davis campus and sustainability best practices -Knowledge and experience with Search Engine Optimization. -Knowledge and experience in MS Excel and data analysis. -Experience with newsletter software such as MailChimp.
