The qualified professional will manage the Hospital's employee and management compensation programs, including job evaluation, internal equity and external market analysis, merit review cycles, cash award, and performance incentive plans. Additionally, will supervise staff and systems required to achieve goals; review, recommend, implement and maintain policies and procedures; implement and manage the Hospital's compensation philosophy and strategies; and help ensure that compensation programs, policies and practices enhance the Hospital's ability to attract, retain, motivate and engage employees capable of performing their jobs well and contributing to the achievement of organizational goals. As a subject matter expert, the Manager will counsel HR business partners, talent development staff, and leadership on job descriptions, career ladders, goal-setting, and develop and recommend programs to incent and reward employee performance. Also, will support the Director and Chief HR Officer with executive compensation and benefits program administration and communication, as well as partner with Payroll to ensure accurate application of variable pay rules in timekeeping system and compensation payments. The Manager will be accountable for improving total rewards management processes and will partner with others to improve management reporting, employee communications, performance management, and HRIS utilization.
Requires a BS/BA degree in human resources, business, social science or related field (Master's degree preferred), eight years of experience in human resources and/or finance as an analyst, recruiter, specialist or generalist with at least five years total rewards experience, and three years of people and project management experience. Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills, the ability to communicate with management staff, proven ability to lead teams and influence outcomes, knowledge of computerized information systems used in human resources applications, strong project management skills and prior vendor management experience. Advanced Excel, PowerPoint and Microsoft Word skills, including the development of complex spreadsheets and presentations, and experience preparing, documenting and presenting narrative reports and statistical analyses are necessary, as is knowledge of current federal and state labor and benefit laws and regulations, including ADA, ADEA, COBRA, EEOC, ERISA, FLSA, FMLA, Health Care Reform Act, HIPPA, OSHA, Pension Protection Act, Title 7, and USERRA. Must have familiarity with state laws such as CFRA, DFEH, IWC, PDA, Paid Family Leave, SDI, Unemployment and Wage Orders, and a demonstrated numerical aptitude, knowledge of business finance, and prior labor/benefits budgeting experience. Must be able to work 2-3 evenings per month and possess a Compensation Professional designation. Workday experience is a plus, while experience implementing new benefit programs, managing major benefit changes and working in a unionized environment are preferred.
