Job Summary/Basic Function: Job Summary: The Broadcast Coordinator assists the Assistant AD for Video & Creative Services on a daily basis. The primary role of the Broadcast Coordinator is to oversee all ESPN+, ESPN3, and Facebook Live productions for Lamar University Athletics. This includes all aspects of production, including pre-production (including Xpressions Graphics) and post production duties. The Broadcast Coordinator must be skilled in troubleshooting technical equipment, which means a full understanding of various broadcast technologies, and how they work in conjunction with each other. The Broadcast Coordinator will also assist the Director of Video in supervising and training student staff. Other duties may be assigned by Director of Video, or other administrators. Strict adherence to established NCAA, Southland Conference, Texas State University System, and Lamar University rules and regulations. A violation of these rules and regulations can lead to disciplinary action including termination.
Job Requirements: 1. Assist the Director of Video & Creative Services with day-to-day duties for athletics department.
2. In charge of pre-production, production, and post-production of all live broadcasts.
3. In charge of broadcast engineering operations.
4. Assist video coordinator in strategically producing motivational, informational, & unique features for multiple outlets.
5. An understanding of Adobe Premiere Pro, Photoshop, and After Effects is highly recommended.
6. Assist with scheduling of broadcast operations crew for multiple sports.
7. Provide production knowledge to Director of Video & Creative Services and crew in live broadcasts.
8. Stay current on latest trends within broadcast/production field.
9. Maintain rapport with university athletics staff.
10. Supervise student staff.
11. Perform other duties as assigned by the department head.
Reports directly to the Assistant AD for Video & Creative Services.
Minimum Qualifications: Qualifications: - Bachelors degree required - Skilled in troubleshooting technical equipment - Skilled in all areas of broadcasting live sports events, including Xpressions Graphics - Knowledge of video equipment - Ability to produce video content - Ability to supervise student staff required - Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite required - Ability to work nights/weekends required - Working knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations preferred - Strict adherence to established NCAA, Southland Conference, Texas State University System, and Lamar University rules and regulations. A violation of these rules and regulations can lead to disciplinary action including termination.
Preferred Qualifications: Preferred Qualifications: - 1-3 years experience w/live sports production - Experience with the Adobe Creative Cloud - Working knowledge of camera operations, audio, lighting and broadcast - Working knowledge of streaming solutions/platforms - Working knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations
