Reporting to the Director of Alumni Relations, this individual will provide support for the planning, coordination, implementation and evaluation of comprehensive Alumni Relations programs with the goal of building alumni participation, affinity and support.
Coordinate reunion (annual), Volunteer Work Project (four times a year), Alumni Board meetings and other regional and local alumni events, including logistics, promotion, set-up, tear-down, evaluation and follow-up.
Collaborate with department staff to support alumni chapter and affinity group activities.
Develop an annual calendar of regional and local alumni events designed to connect and re-connect alumni and friends to the College.
Coordinate outside vendors, permits and contracts for alumni events.
Maintain event details in the Raiser’s Edge constituent record management database.
Assist area alumni in implementing regional gatherings while supporting and encouraging the development of local leadership within alumni chapters.
Manage the Alumni Online Community through the use of the Almabase platform. Maintain, update and troubleshoot the site, and provide strategy for improving and updating the site over time.
Coordinate with the Communications Office on invitations, mailings, social media and other communications as they pertain to development and alumni.
Contribute to the overall success of the Alumni Relations program by working on special projects and performing other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Support and participate in other programs and activities as requested.
Bachelor’s degree required
Three years of experience working with volunteers in program and event planning and implementation, preferred
Demonstrated ability to effectively utilize database systems, Excel and other software programs to capture, retrieve, and analyze data. Raiser’s Edge experience a plus
Strong history of taking initiative, including seeking clarification
Demonstrated customer service orientation
Project management, organizational, prioritizing and problem-solving skills
Demonstrated attention to detail
Demonstrated high energy level, flexibility and creativity; positive, and upbeat personality
Ability to ensure confidentiality of departmental information
Ability to juggle and manage multiple assignments, meet deadlines and work as a team member with some supervision.
Commitment to contribute to a professional, open and diverse work environment
Previous experience in an alumni relations or higher education setting preferred
Excellent written and oral communication.
Occasional overnight travel and working non-standard hours including nights and weekends are required.
Proficient with Microsoft Office applications and Google tools
Proficient with standard office equipment such as networked computers, telephones, copiers, fax machines
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
Valid Ohio driver’s license
Required Physical Abilities:
Position works extensively in an office environment; seated for up to an hour at a time
Up to three hours of standing during events
Able to lift and carry up to 25 pounds
Able to do event set-up, tear down, and clean-up (chair and table moving, sweeping, wiping, organizing and similar)
Able to utilize standard office equipment such as networked computers, telephones, copiers, fax machines
Ability to keyboard for up to one hour at a time, six times a day
Requirement to move around campus, indoors and outdoors, over paved and rough terrain in all weather
Requirement to travel by car, airplane, or other forms of public transport in support of Antioch needs
