North Carolina A&T State University announces the national search for an Endowed Professor/Director of the Cybersecurity Research, Education and Outreach (CREO) in the Division of Academic Affairs beginning Fall 2019. The endowed professor will hold a faculty appointment in a College or School most related to their academic and scholarly background with a reporting line to the relevant Dean. As Center Director, the reporting line will be to the Senior Vice Provost for Academic Affairs.
The Center of Excellence in Cybersecurity Research, Education and Outreach (CREO) was established to provide exemplary leadership in teaching, research, and community outreach. CREO is an inclusive community of stakeholders distinguished by interdisciplinary and innovative approaches that translate knowledge into solutions for cybersecurity challenges. The mission is to: - Serve as the academic and research nexus for the development of advanced mathematical and computational techniques - Empower students, faculty and other members of the university community to engage in interdisciplinary thought and leadership in cybersecurity - Evaluate and investigate socioeconomic practices and regulatory and public policy issues related to cybersecurity - Create approaches to secure valuable assets from cyber-threats
This is a 12-month tenure track position.

The Endowed Professor must have an earned doctorate in a discipline or inter-disciplines relevant to cybersecurity, broadly defined as prevention of or protection from the malicious use of digital information, tools, or cyber-infrastructure. Strong evidence of funding in research, teaching and outreach in areas relevant to cybersecurity is required, as well as demonstrated knowledge and expertise in the advancement of entrepreneurship and commercialization of innovations. The Center Director must demonstrate excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills and an ability to work with diverse stakeholders, including students, faculty, staff, community organizations, corporate partners, alumni, prospective sponsors, prospective university partners, and public relations, including social media. The Center Director must have a demonstrated publication, funding, professional development, and outreach record that clearly communicates knowledge and values associated with inclusion, diversity, interdisciplinary appreciation and systems thinking.
Preferred Qualifications - Excellent skills in proposal writing and advocacy to program officers, directors, and other personnel from prospective funding agencies - A portfolio of past funding across multiple federal agencies, industry and foundations - At least 5 years of experience leading a research or business center at the executive/director or associate director level - At least 2 years of experience with systematic curriculum reform and developing certificate and academic degree programs in both classroom and distance education - This expertise must also include at least five years of experience teaching in higher education. - A security clearance, ITAR research experience and/or other moderate risk security clearances are a plus
