Under the supervision of the Athletic Director, duties for the Head Spirit Coach will consist of managing and coaching the spirit program including, but not limited to: recruiting athletes, public relations, fundraising and other responsibilities within the boundaries of the rules and regulations of the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference, the National Junior College Athletic Association and Dodge City Community College.
Prior collegiate coaching and recruiting experience in the sport.
Knowledge of NJCAA and KJCCC rules and regulations.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to monitor academic progress of student athletes.
Ability to work with athletic staff members and dance/drill team members.
Proven ability to work with diverse populations including traditional and non-traditional students.
Obtain and maintain a valid Kansas driver's license.
College Head Coaching Experience.
Physical Requirements: With or without assistance
Ability to bend, stoop, jump, kneel stand, walk and be on your feet for 3 hours a day to demonstrate sport.
Operate a motor vehicle and be able to drive to games and back.
Ability to carry equipment needed to and from practice and games.
Ability to ambulate and navigate stairs and ramps throughout the campus complex.
