Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Edit/Media Specialist II C/W for the Office of Career Exploration and Success (formerly University Career Services). This position reports to the Associate Director for Strategic Outreach and is the primary expert on multimedia engagement and produces videos, social media content, email messaging, and other virtual multimedia materials designed to increase engagement with the office. The Edit/Media Specialist II C/W hires, trains, and supervises multiple student interns to assist with video production and content writing.
Among the principal duties of this position are the following:
Manages the five @RutgersCareers social media platforms (i.e., Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and LinkedIn) and generates strategies to distribute engaging multimedia content to all platforms regularly.
Manages the production of videos, plans, and executes viewership impact strategies, and develops creative ideas to increase audience engagement.
Oversees the distribution of the weekly Career Pulse e-newsletter, and produces content and graphics for direct email marketing campaigns.
Manages the careers.rutgers.edu website to ensure impactful user experience, publishes content that delivers key messages to various audiences, and troubleshoots technical problems with the Office of Information Technology Systems.
Ensures consistent messaging and presentation across all multimedia platforms, and analyzes email campaign, website, social media, and video engagement to develop strategies for improvement.
Utilizes established brand elements to create and organize multimedia content, including video, graphic design, GIFs, email banners, digital advertisements, infographics, and more and serves as a secondary graphic designer.
Helps with department promotional projects, and participates in programs, street team events, and more.
Minimum Education and Experience:
A minimum a bachelor's degree; or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
A minimum of two years of experience in career services, marketing, and/or design environment.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Ability to work with a highly diverse population, excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills, and a strong commitment to teamwork, student development, and customer service.
Detail-oriented, flexible, organized, and have the ability to work independently as well as on a team.
Experience managing an organization's social media accounts.
Proficiency in current graphic design trends/Adobe Creative Suite, use of video equipment, DSLR cameras, lighting systems, and Google Analytics.
Experience working with a content management system (i.e. Drupal, WordPress).
Experience working in a project management system.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:
Must be willing to work some nights and weekends.
Salary: Starting Salary Range: $48,647 - $54,000
