The USC School of Pharmacy is seeking an experienced Project Specialist - Administrative to support the faculty research program in translational pharmacogenomics, focused on integrating the optimization of preclinical data generation with multi-scale modeling and predictive analytic approaches to develop and advance drug research.
This position will coordinate and facilitate activities with senior leaders of collaborating organizations and/or Principal Investigators (PI: a university employee having the background and training in scientific and administrative oversight necessary to conduct and manage federally funded research studies) and Co-Investigators (Co-I) regarding incoming requests to partner including determining proposed project activities from the senior leaderâs / PIâs goals / study objectives, drafting potential/proposed budget and negotiating a partnership beneficial to the USC faculty and trainees involved as well as the School of Pharmacy and university as a whole.Â Additionally, this position will compile, prepare and maintain program data for documentation for research grant program impact assessments.Â The position will also involve scientific components; namely, to co-write scientific manuscripts in the format of Scientific Reviews and Perspectives for high profile journals.Â

Interfacing with financial analysts
Planning and implementing grant-supported projects
Developing an evaluation method to assess program strengths and
identify areas for improvement
Coordinating communication among faculty, staff, and students
Assisting in writing scientific reports and manuscripts
Manage the submission of manuscripts to scientific journals
Maintain lab webpage
Preferred Skills and Experience:
Knowledge of research design and experience with research projects.
Excellent computer literacy: Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint.
Knowledge of WordPress is helpful.
Highly organized with a high degree of attention to detail.
Ability to follow and communicate complex instructions and directions.
Ability to plan, prioritize and schedule multiple work assignments.
Ability to follow-up and resolve problems arising from routine situations.Â
Ability to analyze and present data in graphs and spreadsheets

Masterâs Degree highly desirable. A minimum of two years of experience working in research-related projects required.
