•Act as work leader for student employees while working in Sather Tower. •Resolve and/or follow through on problems or questions that may arise. •Oversee student staff including allocating tasks, setting work standards, and setting timetables and deadlines. •Plan and oversee training of Campanile staff to respond to inquiries regarding daily operations, on visitation procedures and general customer relations. •Maintain current and appropriate training materials -- provide regular training to new student employees. Manage the assembly and dissemination of information as needed to provide accurate information to the public and campus community. •Incumbent is responsible for daily Campanile operations. This includes opening and closing, selling Campanile tickets and collecting fees via cash and credit card. •Maintain working relationship with tower occupants -- the departments of Paleontology and Music, custodial and physical plant. •Maintain cleanliness of elevator, observation deck and stairs. •Ensure the safety of visitors by observing elevator capacity regulations and periodic monitoring of the observation deck. Report and follow-up on all safety and security issues as they arise. •Respond to emergencies following established guidelines, and in the best interests of visitors and building occupants. •Responsible for disseminating basic information about the campus, Sather Tower, and surrounding areas. •Incumbent is expected to remain up to date on current campus and Campanile history. •Order and maintain inventories of all supplies used for Campanile operations. •Oversee use and maintenance of equipment. •Maintain complete and accurate financial record keeping on a daily basis. •Balance receipts and income and make weekly deposits. •Oversee student data entry and retrieval. •Maintain all statistical and record keeping reports and files. •Compile and analyze statistical data for monthly, quarterly and annual reports. •Provide reports to supervisor as needed. •Provide onsite support for special Campanile events on occasional evenings and weekends for small and large scale campus events to include Cal Day and Homecoming & Parents Weekend.•Demonstrated clerical/administrative experience. •Excellent communication skills. •Fast, accurate typing and data entry and attention to detail essential. •Excellent oral/written communication, organizational, and time management skills. •Front line customer service experience. This position is governed by the terms and conditions in the agreement for the Clerical & Allied Services Unit (CX) between the University of California and Teamsters Local 2010.
