The Office of Development is seeking a Media Coordinator to join their dynamic team, working directly in support of the Marketing & Communications team.
The Marketing & Communications team works closely with the Fundraising Events team on the successful execution of multiple events, including Cycle for Survival, Freds Team, Kids Walk for MSK Kids, and many other Development events. They also produce a robust suite of content; ranging from creative services, marketing campaigns, and writing needs of the Development Office.
The Media Coordinator will play a key role in supporting the Associate Director for media in a variety of communications initiatives, including video production, content creation, and public relations. This is an exciting time to join our team, which is rapidly innovating and expanding our communications strategy. All of the work we do is to advance Memorial Sloan Ketterings mission, and help people impacted by cancer by raising funds for research.

Assist in media management and organization (i.e. department photos and videos)
Manage photo and video production at events
Plan and attend meetings about cancer research updates
Assist in the production of various materials for donors across various cancer research topics; this includes researching ways to explain complex medical concepts in compelling lay terms
Help with story development and content strategy
Assist in writing, editing, and organizing PR materials
Help with media opportunities and interviews
Contribute new ideas to boost awareness of the Fundraising Events programs
Ad-hoc administrative support for video and media projects, and various communications needs
Self-motivated, collaborative, and reliable; the ideal candidate would succeed when working independently and as part of a group
A team player who takes pride in your individual success, as well as the success of the team
Extremely organized and detail-oriented
Good at being perceptive, anticipating needs, and being a proactive problem solver
An effective communicator with exceptional writing skills
Creative and curious, interested in learning
Capable of handling multiple high-volume projects and relationships simultaneously
Skilled at evaluating a problem and applying excellent judgment, discretion, and empathy
A Bachelors Degree with a minimum of 2 years of related experience.
Experience with video production.
