The Director, Recruitment Training is responsible for developing and delivering competent and engaging training across all departments within the Office of Marketing and Enrollment with a primary focus on working with our field and in-house recruitment teams. The Director determines skill standards that should be met and assesses gaps amongst in-house and field recruitment teams to develop training materials, activities, strategies and evaluations that support effective and consistent messaging and best practices across all student channels. The Director calibrates and collaborates with various teams and leaders on diverse training needs, ensuring all policies, procedures and changes are communicated in a timely and well-constructed manner. The Director is a key advocate for team development and success amongst SGU’s student recruitment efforts. The Director, Recruitment Training will partner in a close and collaborative way with all members within the student recruitment division, reporting into the Vice President, Student Recruitment.
Identify and proactively address opportunities to increase the effectiveness of in-house and field recruitment staff within the Office of Marketing, Recruitment and Enrollment Operations (MREO).
Drive effective and ongoing instruction specific to student recruitment and customer engagement.
Deliver training and development of in-house recruitment teams focused on communication, positioning, overcoming objectives and creating strong relationships with prospective students and other key constituent groups.
Deliver training and development of field recruitment teams focused on communication, position, overcoming objectives and presentation skills. Coach teams on body language, captivating storytelling, one-on-one interaction and how to make a presence amongst large volumes or groups.
Gather feedback from marketing and enrollment teams and analyze trends and data to assess training requirements and needs. Conduct performance gap analyses to determine additional training needs.
Provide customized 1:1 training to individual team members.
Develop and effectively deliver new hire training and onboarding for constituents within the Student Recruitment area.
Manage and deliver enrollment follow up training and development training to all marketing and enrollment members.
Coordinate with subject matter experts on the training of applicable topics.
Ensure appropriate training methodologies are used for each trainee to ensure success in the field.
Develop and maintain training and reference materials, providing staff with job aides as appropriate.
Assist in the development of evaluation methods that measure training success.
Implement effective training policies, procedures and programs.
Develop and training new and existing staff on training subject matters.
Coordinate and schedule training activities both in-person and virtually.
Present topics in a dynamic, engaging and effective way.
Keep training materials updated and effective in order, flow and learning curve.
Make recommendations to improve recruitment efforts and student interaction. Update and revise course content and teaching methodologies to maintain relevancy.
Perform other duties as assigned.

5+ years of training experience, university admissions and sales experience preferred, with a proven affinity for customer service.
Background in sales, training and coaching, or learning and development.
Bachelor’s Degree in Business preferred.

This job is performed in a positive, creative and collaborative environment.
Hours and Travel
A typical work week is 37.5 hours Monday through Friday 9am to 5pm.
Flexible hours required to implement initiatives and execute deliverables. There will be required events outside of the normal working hours, including weekends.
Local and out-of-town travel to deliver recruitment training as determined by the Vice President, Student Recruitment.
