The incumbent will serve as Director of Marketing for the Athletics Department and will serve as the primary marketing contact for Football and Baseball. He/She will also help oversee and develop select Marketing Assistants and the Marketing Coordinator. Under the direction of the Assistant Athletics Director for Marketing and Fan Development, duties and responsibilities will include, but not limited to the following:
Developing and executing a comprehensive external plan inclusive of marketing, promotions, advertising, budgeting, communications and social media for Football and Baseball. This also includes advising support staff and coaches on marketing strategies
Coordinating with the in-house sales team on aggressive ticket and attendance strategies to meet revenue goals. Collaborate with communications team to promote ticket sales and promotional opportunities
Serving as gameday producer for Football and Baseball inclusive of drafting gameday scripts and collaborating with Broadcast & Video Services and Wolfpack Sports Properties (IMG/Learfield) on engaging in-game content
Managing and executing gameday operations and promotions for Football and Baseball including working with Wolfpack Sports Properties, the Wolfpack Club, NC State Alumni Association, Marketing Assistants, Student Volunteers/Interns and other campus constituents for all in-game activities
Coordinating with Creative Services to conceptualize and develop print, digital, social and e-mail campaigns for designated sports with strong brand consistency
Assisting with Digital Marketing Strategies and ROAS in coordination with Paciolan
Responsible for hiring and overseeing Marketing Assistants and Marketing Coordinator that handle select sports
Coordinating trade contracts for media outlets in partnership with advertising agency
Providing guidance and vision for fan experience efforts across all Varsity Sports
Representing the Athletics department on select campus-wide committees
Assisting with overseeing Marketing Assistants on student promotional efforts, retention and engagement through key University student organizations (i.e. Fraternity & Sorority Life, Housing, Student Government) and maintain athletics as a strong campus partner
Bachelor’s degree and one year of experience related to the area of assignment; or and equivalent combination of training and experience.
All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
Departmental Required Skills:
Experience working at the Division I level in athletics marketing (3-5 years)
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Strong computer skills and knowledge
Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations
Ability to work non-standard work week including nights, weekends and holidays
3+ years experience at the Division I level in athletics marketing
Prior experience with football marketing and promotions
Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite
Prior social media and public relations experience
Proven ability to work collaboratively with a diverse population of colleagues, co-workers and constituents
Established experience meeting annual department goals in a fast-paced environment
