Work with the director of public relations to track media mentions using tracking software, working with reporters/editors; writing stories for Webster Today and the website; Managing media during special events
Minimum Qualifications Effective Date August 26, 2019 QUALIFICATIONSFORAPPOINTMENT Must have a bachelors degree in communications and/or journalism and a current Webster graduate student working on a Masters in Public Relations or Masters of Communications. This position will give real-life experiences in the field that will contribute to what is being taught in the classroom. Previous experience working as a journalist or in public relations is a plus Functional/Technical Skills* Must be able to type, write, and have basic knowledge of AP style; understand media protocols; be able to show a professional decorum, know how to operate a desktop computer. Standard Schedule: 20 hours per week, M-F during regular office hours *Any one position may not include all of the duties listed, nor do the examples necessarily include all of the duties performed.
Essential Duties Essential Duties and Responsibilities* Check media monitoring software and sort new entries; work on tracking down information and writing web stories for the university web site; meet with reporters/editors and help manage expectations.
Secondary Duties and Responsibilities* Help university guests navigate campus; monitor media interviews
