Knoxville's WUOT-FM is looking for a morning person to buildon the station's reputation as a key source of timely, in-depth information foran engaged audience. We're searching for someone who can provide consistentlyhigh-quality reporting and be an amiable companion for morning drive-timelisteners. The Morning Editionhost/reporter reports to WUOT's news director.
The Morning Editionhost/reporter will deliver newscasts, weather reports and traffic updates weekdaysfrom 5:00 to 9:00 a.m.
They'll get to produce interviews and feature stories thatilluminate issues significant to East Tennessee. The host will also serveoccasional turns on Dialogue, WUOT'saward-winning midday public affairs program. They will have opportunities towork with other Tennessee public radio stations and file for NPR News. And theywill get to join in the fun in WUOT's fundraising and outreach efforts, beingan ambassador for the station in a community that values and cherishes publicbroadcasting.
Knoxville is home to the University of Tennessee, thestate's flagship institution of higher education. The Tennessee ValleyAuthority is headquartered here. Proximity to Great Smoky Mountains NationalPark, Oak Ridge National Laboratory and the Y-12 Nuclear Security Complexprovides ample opportunity to report on federal matters that have localeffects.
