The primary purpose of the Assistant Director is to serve as a senior level administrator and provide total management of operations in the absence of the Executive Director; participate in budget development and goal setting for the health center; assist with the daily operations in planning, organizing, directing, integrating, and controlling the activities of the staff. This position also oversees a five million dollar- plus budget; institutes and monitors records and procedures for federal and state regulatory compliance, OSHA, FERPA, JCAH and IDPAA regulations. This position supervises the following areas: health education, housekeeping, administrative assistant and insurance clerks. The responsibilities will also include monthly reviews and formulation of policies and procedures that govern Federal and State Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) to insure compliance. A major responsibility of the Assistant Director is to evaluate and make independent decisions for hundreds of unusual cases or special circumstances each year. This position will require an extreme amount of knowledge, problem solving skills, and conflict resolution skills..

Master’s degree in advanced practice nursing and/or 5 years supervisory, managerial and budgeting experience in health care management.
Doctoral Degree in Advanced Practice Nursing and 5 years supervisory, managerial and budgeting experience in health care. Knowledge of Health Care regulations (JCAH, HIPAA, OSHA, and FERPA); five years experience in Insurance regulations/preparation; employee regulations (training, evaluation, supervision, public relations,). Knowledge of federal laws of Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), Joint Commission on Accreditation of Health Care (JCAH), Protected Health Information (Pill) regulations; knowledge of Health education; excellent communications (verbal, written), problem solving/mediation skills, and computer skills.
