Assistant Director Donor Communications - University Advancement - (19001557)
The Office of Principal Gifts has an opening for an Assistant Director Donor Communications. Our office plays a critical role in Tufts' major fundraising efforts. Working with the Senior Management Team and the school-based Directors of Development, the Office facilitates top university prospect strategy, meetings, tracks university top prospects, and cultivates and solicits many 6-7 figure fundraising prospects for presidential priorities. Select staff members oversee all cultivation and solicitation strategies for cross-school donors and key university programs such as the President's Council, the Institute for Global Leadership, the Tufts Financial Network, the International Board of Advisors and Tufts' Asia Relations fundraising program.
The Assistant Director of Donor Communications will work closely with the Associate Director of Leadership Development and Donor Strategies and other members of the Principal Gifts Team to craft donor and prospect communications; design donor relations activities including events, annual stewardship reports and regular acknowledgements; and develop high-level preparatory materials such as briefings for events and prospect meetings for university leadership, including the President, Provost and select Deans, all of which will create stronger relationships between principal donors and prospects and the university.
3-5 years professional experience with a focus on writing, preferably in development, alumni relations, marketing or public relations.
Proficiency in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint is required.
Excellent writing and proofreading skills are required.
Strong customer service orientation and be extremely detail-oriented.
Familiarity with Advance or similar complex database is desirable.
Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite a plus.
