NYU's prestigious Leonard N. Stern School of Business has a challenging opportunity for an Assistant Director, Communications on the Public Affairs team supporting the office of Development and Alumni Relations. The Assistant Director will support all communications for the alumni audience at NYU Stern. S/he will create event invitations, manage social media accounts, assist with the Stern Alumni magazine, draft fund raising appeal letters, and create donor-related publications across a wide variety of promotional vehicles. The Assistant Director will work with the email marking system to schedule emails, create a monthly e-newsletter and track metrics. Specific responsibilities include: managing the design, print and mailing of communications materials; responding to data and mail list requests; securing estimates and budgeting; writing, proofing and editing informational and promotional text across a variety of vehicles; and overseeing the departmental website.
Candidates will have a Bachelor's degree along with 3 years of relevant alumni or membership relations experience, including supervising office operations and staff, administering budgets, working with an email marketing system, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. The ability to communicate effectively with individuals at all levels is critical. The selected candidate will have strong customer service, organizational and interpersonal skills. Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator) or other design programs is required. Experience with HTML and knowledge of creating dynamic email content, journey mapping and optimizing email open rates is highly preferred.
