The Gerstner Sloan Kettering graduate school offers a unique curriculum that integrates Memorial Sloan Ketterings basic science and clinical arms to maximize the potential of future basic scientists to improve human health. GSK is seeking an Administrative Assistant to support the Associate Dean and the Registrar. The Administrative Assistant is a member of a team that interacts with GSK deans, staff, faculty and graduate students, and other MSKCC employees at different departments of the organization.This employeewill be responsible for GSK public relations-related communications, maintain social media presence, update information on the websiteand will work closely with the associate dean to coordinate special projects essential to the success and growth of the Gerstner Sloan-Kettering Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences.
Assist in planning, scheduling, drafting and archiving all correspondence sent to students and faculty by GSK.
Oversee all list serves and ensure that they are up-to-date.
Serve as the public relations contact for GSK.
Update the GSK website and serve as the key contact for the GSK social media accounts on Twitter and Facebook, ensuring appropriate content and regular updates. Assist in developing strategies for improving website information content, social media and internal/external communication, and developing newsletters.
Analyze trends and generate information from a variety of platforms, including FB, LinkedIn, Twitter, and possibly GSK blog.
Develop and write web content and special articles.
Coordinate photo shoots for special events and public relations projects, including recruitment materials and commencement, and others, as needed.
Coordinate the periodic updates of the relevant sections of the GSK Student-Faculty Guide, GSK Faculty Handbook and other GSK recruitment materials.
Oversee online faculty web pages, including assisting faculty; manages the annual collection and analysis of faculty data, including publications and training record.
Provide administrative and technical support for generating visual aids/presentations materials, including power point slideshows.
Coordinate logistics for site visits and records committee meetings minutes; generates reports for the deans using multiple sources and databases.
Provide assistance to the Registrar in the scheduling of the GSK courses, journal clubs and seminars. Collect the materials for the courses and uploads them to the schools portal.
Participate in the design and maintains the database tracking system utilizing current GSK Student Information System.
Collaborate with GSK staff on communication strategies for alumni, such as emails, newsletters, web pages and social media sites.
Use excellent writing and editing/proofreading skills on daily basis.
A Bachelor's Degree is strongly preferred.
A minimum of 2-4 years of experience inadministration and/or program management, preferably in higher education environment.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong project management abilities.
The ability tobalance multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Proficiency with web-based technology, Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat Suite.
Ability to learn quickly custom-made GSK database, interests in staying current with various technologies.
High degree of accuracy and attention to detail are required. #LI-POST
