Sr. Project Manager Vacancy # ENG082018-58, Position # 236 As part of the Project Management Department, the Senior Project Manager is responsible for providing engineering support, hydraulic analysis, project management, as well as engineering design, technical specs, water and wastewater modeling. The Senior Project Manager manages consulting engineers, sub consultants, primer contractors, and subcontractors in the design and construction of capital projects; provides engineering technical support to project consultants regarding project design, scheduling, construction methods, and information related to facility and equipment needs; provides project information to CFPUA Board, as required; provides leadership and guidance to Project Managers; administers contracts to include reviewing and issuing correspondence, transmittals, and contract payments and amendments; negotiates with consultants and contractors regarding problems that occur during the design and construction of capital projects to include scheduling, the quality of construction and fees; recommends possible litigation for contact deficiencies; calculates fees associated with connection to Authority facilities; provides supporting data and expertise for communication and public relations activities related to the groundbreaking, construction, and dedication of Authority capital projects; prepares and oversees requests for proposals to consulting engineers, architects and construction firms for services related to the design and construction of capital projects; ensures that field construction adheres to safety and environmental requirements and construction industry best practices; reviews and makes recommendations on the designs prepared by consultants in order to ensure compliance with project specifications, Authority Master Plan, design intent, environmental permits and safety requirements; oversees non-capital projects; and tracks project progression and keeps projects under budget throughout construction.
The position requires a Bachelor’s degree, seven (7) years of work experience and a valid State of North Carolina driver's license. Preferred certifications are: Project Management Professional (PMP), Design Build Institute of America (DBIA) or Engineering Professional; Engineering In Training (EI).
