USC-Columbia Office of On Your Time Initiatives in conjunction with the School of Journalism and Mass Communications at the University of South Carolina invites applications for a full-time instructor to join the faculty in August 2019. The ideal candidate will have expertise in public relations, both professionally and strategically, and a passion for teaching and preparing undergraduate students for the profession of public relations.
Primary responsibilities include teaching undergraduate courses in the public relations sequence such as introduction to public relations and public relations writing at the basic and advanced levels, and other courses as needed.
The course load for this 11-month assignment includes 12 credit hours in the fall, 12 credit hours in the spring, and 1 course during the summer semester. This is a temporary, full-time one-year appointment, non-tenure track position.
