USC-Columbia Office of On Your Time Initiatives in conjunction with the School of Journalism and Mass Communications at the University of South Carolina invites applications for a full-time instructor to join the faculty in August 2019. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in mass communications writing, both journalistically and strategically, and a passion for teaching writing and preparing undergraduate students for the professional work of journalism and mass communications.
Teach writing courses across the curriculum, which would include introductory courses in writing for mass communications, public relations writing, social media writing, editing and other advanced writing courses. Participate in faculty governance.
The course load for this 11-month assignment includes 12 credit hours in the fall, 12 credit hours in the spring, and 1 course during the summer semester.
